Terms of Service

1. Agreeing to these terms

PinPal is run by SyntaxHQ ("we", "us"). By adding PinPal to a server, using its commands, or buying Premium, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you add PinPal to a server, you're also responsible for how it's used there.

You must also follow Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines, and be old enough to use Discord where you live.

2. The service

PinPal keeps messages ("pins") at the bottom of Discord channels by reposting them. The free plan and Premium include the features and limits described on our pricing page and in the docs. We may improve, change or retire features over time; when a change affects Premium in a big way, we'll announce it first.

3. Acceptable use

You're responsible for the content of your pins. Don't use PinPal to:

• scam, phish or trick people, or share malware;
• pretend to be PinPal, Discord, another bot or anyone else, including with a custom pin name or avatar;
• harass, threaten or spread hate;
• post anything illegal, or content that breaks Discord's rules;
• spam, or try to get around Discord's rate limits or PinPal's limits;
• attack, overload, reverse-engineer or disrupt PinPal or its infrastructure.

4. Safety features

Pins show a 🔍 "About this pin" button that tells members the pin was written by the server, not PinPal, and how to report problems. Servers can ask for it to be removed from a pin; we decide case by case. Pins with a custom name or rotating messages always keep it, and it returns if a pin's content changes.

If we believe PinPal is being used against these terms, we may turn the button back on, remove or pause pins, restrict features, or stop PinPal working in a server. Report misuse in our support server.

5. Premium

• Per server. A subscription unlocks Premium for one Discord server. Someone with Manage Server starts it with /premium.
• Billing. Payments are handled by Polar, our payment provider and merchant of record, with cards processed by Stripe. Polar's own terms apply to the purchase.
• Renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically each month, quarter or year until cancelled.
• Cancelling. Cancel any time in the customer portal or from your Polar receipt email. Premium stays active until the end of the period you've paid for.
• Refunds. See our refund policy.
• Prices. Prices are in USD, plus any tax Polar calculates at checkout. If prices change, the new price applies from your next renewal after we've given notice.
• When Premium ends. Nothing is deleted; Premium features pause and the free plan applies.
• Abuse. Premium doesn't exempt a server from section 3. If we stop PinPal working in a server for serious abuse, we don't owe a refund for the remaining period, except where the law says otherwise.

6. Availability

We work hard to keep PinPal online and reliable, but it's provided "as is" and "as available". Discord outages, rate limits, maintenance and bugs can delay or miss reposts. We don't promise any particular uptime.

7. Liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits or lost data from using PinPal, and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us for Premium in the 12 months before it. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be excluded.

8. Ending access

You can stop using PinPal any time by removing it from your server; you can delete your data first with /server and /personal. We may stop providing PinPal to anyone who breaks these terms.

9. Changes

We may update these terms. We'll change the date above and announce important changes in our support server. Continuing to use PinPal after a change means you accept the new terms.
